OBS Internships
The internship program enables students to combine what they learn in the classroom with the ‘real life experience’ of working at the Oklahoma Biological Survey. Please see the Internships in Conservation Biology page for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

Many of the projects of the Oklahoma Biological Survey welcome volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for a specific project, please see the contact person for that project. If you are interested in volunteering, but are not sure which project best fits your skills, please contact the Survey office at (405)325-4034.
Herbarium volunteers
The Robert Bebb Herbarium is Oklahoma's primary reference collection of plants. People who need to identify plants or who study the history or distribution of species in Oklahoma or the Great Plains make use of the Herbarium. This "library" of plants needs volunteers to help with all aspects of processing specimens. Hours are entirely flexible and visitor parking passes are available. In the spring we do plant forays with botanists, students and interested volunteers to collect specimens for the Herbarium. Please contact Wayne Elisens if you are interested.
