Freshwater Ecology

Freshwaters are biodiverse ecosystems that are strongly interlinked with terrestrial ecosystems. Flowing waters, especially, provide critical conduits for the movement of water, resources and organisms. Freshwater ecosystems and their biota are highly susceptible to human impacts. Our research ranges from basic studies of aquatic ecology and biodiversity to studies on a variety of human impacts to freshwater ecosystems.
